In August 2023 Dean Horrod was employed as the new Community Grounds and General Maintenance Worker. Dean is known locally as “The Village Handyman” and his role is to oversee the maintenance of the village planters, maintain the outdoor communal areas in the village including the car park and planted areas, Memorial Hall, land around the play park and to carry out regular clean ups, litter picking and weeding throughout the village.
Dean also carries out any repairs, painting and general handyman duties in the Memorial Hall and can provide garden and handyman services to residents of Barrhill aged 65 +. If you are aged 65 or over, or know someone in the village/surrounding area of this age who might benefit from some help with lawn mowing or garden maintenance, please contact a Trustee for further information.
Angela McDonald took on the full duties of Hall Caretaker when Pat Oconner retired at the end of July having previously being the standby caretaker. These duties are added to those she already has as the superintendant of the Public Toilets.
As of the 1st October 2024 Linda Wild has been appointed as an Administration Assistant to facilitate the operation of the BDT. Linda works from 9:30am to 2:30pm Monday to Thursday and can be reached on enquiries@barrhilldevtrust.org. A phone number will be available shortly.
